MA STUFF 'N THINGS
September
September 6th
Now working on a pinch pot mug. Carving out gusts of wind and falling leaves, making sure to keep that uniform thinckness.
September 8th
Continuing to carve out the leaves and gusts of wind. Also made sure to keep smoothing the surface.
September 13th September 15th
Finishing touches are put on the mug, and it is ready to be fired. Started working on my next pinch pot project.
Waiting for my mug to be fired. Continuing work on my double pinch pot project. Decided to make it into a pineapple. Began shaping leaves to place on the top.
September 20th
Still waiting for the mug to be fired. Added more leaf layers to the top of the pineapple. Also began carving out triangle patterns on the sides.
September 22nd
Added even more leaves to the pineapple, making sure not to make any part of them too thick. My mug was fired, and it is ready to be sanded & glazed. Thinking that I will make the leaves either brown or yellow to match the Fall season.
September 29th
Putting the finishing touches on the pineapple. Made a hole in the top to release the air, so it doesn't explode in the kiln. Added some tears and cuts to the leaves to give it a more realistic look.
September 27th
Cleaning up the outside carvings on my pineapple. Now that it is getting harder, I will be able to make a hole in the top without it losing it's structure.
