October

October 4th

I sanded the outside of the mug to get a smoother feel, and I'm going to glaze it next class once I decide on the colors. Began working on my animal project, planning to give it to my mom as a present.(She loves dolphins for some reason)

October 9th

Focused on glazing the pinch pot mug, i decided to go with orange as the base color, and to add the black outlines to the wind gusts and the leaves.

October 11th

Continuing to outline the wind and leaf carvings on the mug, and made a lot of progress on the base for the dolphin. I used a scoring tool to get the texture of the water on the underside/ends of the water/waves.

October 18th

Attached the dolphin to the wave base, and added a few more textured waves. Also touched up the under glaze on the mug, and filled out the firing ticket. Now I just have to wait for it to be fired again. I'm thinking that I might add a few finishing touches to the dolphin, and might then start glazing it over the next week.

October 20th

Finished glazing the mug, and I wrote up the firing ticket for it. I also did some touching up on the dolphin, and I'm planning on glazing it next class.

October 27th

Waiting on the mug to be fired again, and began to put under-glaze on the dolphin. I mostly used a royal blue and a teal mixture to get the different shades on the waves and the dolphin itself. I will finish glazing it next week, and hopefully get it fired.

October 30th

Finished putting under-glaze on the dolphin, and have it ready to be fired. I also began to work on a small sgraffito cup, so that's cool.
